You can have clear skin!

The emotional scars of acne can lead to diminished self esteem and can be a source of anxiety and worry when dealing with the world. Acne is perhaps the most common skin disorders in the world. In the United States and Canada alone, acne affects 45 to 55 million individuals at some point in their lives. For most, effects of acne will fade or decrease once they reach their early twenties. In severe cases some will continue to suffer well into their thirties, forties and beyond. But remember, it does not matter at what age you are suffering from acne it is treatable.

Emotionally, acne can affect your self esteem. It makes some individuals feel uncomfortable around people, avoid social gatherings, have low confidence, get sad and depressed and in severe cases. Some even contemplate suicide.

Some of the ways of dealing with the negative feelings are:

1.) Do some research, educate yourself about acne.
2.) Get a new look, spruce up your wardrobe and get a new hairstyle.
3.) Consult a dermatologist to treat your acne.

When you decide to receive professional treatments, do the following:

1.) Take a photograph of yourself before treatment and keep it hidden away, don’t take it out to have a look it.

2.) Take a look at it only in a while during your treatment. When you see the improvement, it will improve how you feel about yourself.

3.) Do not look in the mirror excessively. But if you cannot resist the temptation, do not stand to close to it – stand about 2 feet away.

4.) Be patient! It took a while for your skin to get in the condition it was. It will take some time for complete healing to happen.
